Accepting these terms
These terms cover your use of the Gillette Concrete website and any work you hire us to do. By using the site, asking for an estimate or booking a job, you agree to them, so please read them before you go ahead.
If you don't agree with something here, please don't use the site and give us a call at (307) 670-7851 so we can talk it through. You can always go back to the home page or learn more about Gillette Concrete.
What we do
Gillette Concrete is a concrete contractor in Gillette, WY. We build driveways, patios, sidewalks, steps, garage floors, slabs, footings, foundations and retaining walls, along with stamped and decorative concrete, concrete cutting and foundation raising.
What the website says about our services is general information meant to help you plan, not a promise about your job. The work we'll actually do, the materials and the finish are set out in the written estimate or agreement for your project.
Estimates and pricing
Estimates are free, done on site and carry no obligation. We look at the area, the ground and where the water runs, because those things decide how much digging and base work the job needs.
An estimate is our best price for the work described, based on what we can see before we start. If we find something once the old concrete is out or the ground is open, like soft or wet soil, buried debris or roots, we'll stop, explain it and agree on any added cost with you before we do the extra work.
Prices on an estimate hold for the period written on it. After that, material and labor costs can change, so we may need to update the figure.
Scheduling, weather and cancellation
We'll give you a start date when you book, and we'll tell you how long you'll be off the driveway or patio while the concrete cures, which is the waiting time it needs to gain strength before it can take foot traffic or a vehicle.
Weather comes first on a pour. If it's too cold, too hot, too wet or too windy to pour well, we'll move the date, because concrete placed in bad conditions can end up weak or flaky on top. We'll let you know as soon as we can and set a new date with you.
If you need to cancel or reschedule, call us as early as you can. If we've already ordered materials or done work for your job, you may owe for those costs, and your written agreement will say how that works.
Payment
Your written estimate or agreement sets out how much is due, when it's due and how you can pay. Some jobs call for a payment before we start so we can order materials, and the balance is usually due when the work is done.
If a payment is late, we may hold off on further work until it's settled. Where the law allows, we may also add the reasonable costs of collecting an unpaid balance.
Your part of the job
We need clear access to the work area, a place to park our equipment and a heads-up about anything buried that we might not know about, such as sprinkler lines, private utility lines or old septic parts. We'll arrange the usual utility locate before we dig, but private lines on your property are often not marked.
After the pour, keep people, pets and vehicles off the new concrete until we tell you it's ready. Damage from using the slab early, from heavy equipment we didn't plan for or from changes to drainage after we leave is not covered by our work.
Warranty and what concrete does
We stand behind our work, and your satisfaction is guaranteed. If something isn't right with what we built, call us and we'll come look at it and make it right where the problem is ours.
Concrete can crack, even when it's built well. We cut control joints, which are planned grooves that give the slab a place to crack in a straight line instead of at random, and we prepare the base so the slab doesn't settle. Small hairline cracks, slight color differences and minor surface wear are normal for concrete and aren't defects.
Any specific warranty terms for your job are written in your agreement. Apart from those and what the law requires, we don't make any other promises about the work or about the information on this website.
Limits on our liability
We're licensed and fully insured. Even so, to the extent the law allows, Gillette Concrete isn't responsible for indirect or follow-on losses, like lost use of a space or damage caused by things outside our control, including ground movement, frost heave, flooding, outside contractors or use the concrete wasn't built for.
Where we are responsible, our liability is limited to the amount you paid us for the work in question. Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under Wyoming law that can't be waived.
Settling disagreements
If you're unhappy with anything, call us first at (307) 670-7851 or reach out through our Contact page. Most problems get sorted out with a conversation and a visit to the job, and we'd rather fix it than argue about it.
If we can't settle it that way, we both agree to try mediation in good faith before going to court. If it still isn't resolved, either side may bring the matter in a court located in Wyoming.
Governing law
These terms and any work we do for you are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, without regard to rules that would point to another state's laws.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time, and the version posted on this page is the one that applies. If you've signed an agreement with us for a job, the terms in that agreement control that job.
Questions about any of this are welcome. Call (307) 670-7851 or use our Contact page, and we reply within 1 business day.
